Over 80 % of organizational change efforts fail, management literature says. No wonder, as change is continuous and difficult, if not impossible, to manage. This book reports on an empirical research into 9 organizations, at the early stages of a merger. Organizational storytelling is used as an interactive intervention showing how lived and co-constructed stories mobilize people for change efforts. It addresses the temporal aspects of intentional change efforts, offering a much better chance of success than attempting to manage organizational change in a linear fashion. Experience how stories create cultural embedding through a common language in the 9 organizations, leaving management one step behind the change they, themselves, initiated.
Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a whitefly transmitted geminivirus. It is a severe problem for tomato cultivation specially in the tropical and subtropical region. Symptoms of TYLCV include stunting, curling, cupping, marginal chlorosis of leaves, reduced leaf size and lower number of fruits. Yield loss due to TYLCV can be as high as 100% depending on variety, season and number of viruliferous vectors. Different methods are available to manage the disease but dependence on a single method is vulnerable to failure. Therefore, an integrated approach is needed to manage the disease. Integration of polyethylene mulch, time of planting, netting in the seed bed, spraying of vegetable oils and trap crops caused significant reduction of the disease in the field. This book will be helpful to the researchers, plant pathologists, students and agricultural extension workers.

Every time a customer approaches your business, they arrive with an expectation. It may be a service need or a new product interest, but in every case, they have an expectation that accompanies their interest in your business. What happens next will form an experience that shapes their behavior. A good experience may increase their loyalty and tendency to purchase again. A poor experience may transfer their business to your competitor. The ability to recognize this process and to actively manage it forms the basis for Customer Relationship Management, or CRM. The ability to ensure that the enterprise will act with unity of purpose to ensure experiences that exceed every expectation is a monumental task. Customers interacting with employees, employees collaborating with suppliers— every interaction is an opportunity to manage a relationship. --- Craig Conway
