As, Sweet Sorghum has bright future in ethanol fuel production hence a field experiment was conducted to study the magnitude of genetic variability and character association in 46 genotypes of Sweet Sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench]. Experiment conducted in randomized block design with three replications showed tremendous genetic variability and correlation among various characters.It will prove to be the base material in genetic improvement of sweet sorghum crop as variability is essential requirement of any crop improvement program.
Malnutrition is highly prevalent worldwide among hemodialysis patients and is one of the strongest predictors of morbidity and mortality. So, this book determine the prevalence of malnutrition among hemodialysis patients, determine the impact of demographic socioeconomic factors on malnutrition indicators, determine the prevalence of chronic kidney disease complications, evaluate the diet & fluid compliance among hemodialysis patients, and clarify the correlation between dietary intake and malnutrition among hemodialysis patients living in Gaza-Palestine. The correlation between core stability and athletic performance has not been determined in the available literature. Although several researchers have attempted to quantify the relationship between core stability/strength and functional performance, recent findings suggest that further research is needed to investigate important components and measurement of core stability in relation to athletic performance. Therefore, the primary purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among core power, core strength, core stability, and athletic performance in college soccer athletes. It is important to examine the correlation to assess core power and its effect on athletic performance because core power is an integrated component of core stability, strength and endurance during dynamic movement. In addition to the lack of current scientific evidence to support the correlation between core function and athletic performance, a valid core assessment has not been established yet. Therefore, the secondary purpose of this study was to establish a valid assessment tool of core.
Triticale (Triticosecale) a hybrid of wheat (Triticum) and rye (Secale) is an important cereal crop and has more production as compared to wheat. It has gained importance in fulfilling the increased food demands of the world. For a breeding programme genetic variability and the genetic relationship among genotypes is important. To study this, 70 lines of triticale introduced from CIMMYT were planted in complete block design. Data was recorded for plant height, spike length, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, number of tillers per meter, grain yields per meter and 1000 grain weight. The data showing significant differences was subjected correlation and cluster analysis. Correlation analysis gave the results that plant height had negative and non-significant correlation with grain yield per meter. It was found that spike length had positive and significant correlation with grain yield per meter. Number of spikelets per spike and grain yield per meter was reported to have positive and significant correlation whereas number of grains per spike had positive and highly significant correlation.
The purpose of this study was to discriminate the Kinanthropometrical and Physiological characteristics of female jumpers performance and to find out the combined contribution of kinanthropometrical and physiological variables to jumpers performance. In kinanthropometrical variables significant differences were found among the different groups of jumpers in thigh girth and significant correlation between the arm length and leg length with performance. In physiological variables significant differences were found among the different groups of jumpers in anaerobic power and significant correlation between the heart rate and breath holding time with performance. The present study may also prove the contributions to the physical educators and coaches will be able to utilize kinanthropometrical and physiological variables as predicting factors for the future jumpers and training means to bring about desired changes in athlete or to develop these characteristics in the athletes.
The experiment was undertaken to evaluate seventy one coriander genotypes in Randomized Complete Block Design with two replications to study the genetic variability, heritability, correlation and path analysis at College of Horticulture, Mudigere during the period between January-2012 to March-2012. Analysis of variance revealed highly significant (at P=0.01) difference among genotypes for thirty one parameters studied. Among 71 genotypes evaluated, the genotypes DCC 37, DCC 49 and DCC 51 were found promising in terms of both herbage and seed yield under hill zone of Karnataka.

The objectives were to: discuss the criminal activities by secondary school dropouts in Vihiga County, Kenya, assess the factors influencing dropout rate among secondary school students in relation to crime escalation in Vihiga County, Kenya and examine the correlation between dropouts and crime escalation among secondary school students in Vihiga County, Kenya. The Study was anchored on two theories namely: Labeling Theory and Conflict Theory.
Sasihitlu, a coastal area of Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka, India, is known to have a large population of Hindus. The main source living is fishing. It has been observed that a large section of population is involved in habits like smoking, chewing quid and alcohol consumption. The purpose of this study was planned to evaluate prevalence of white lesions based on data such as distribution according to age, sex and intraoral locations and correlation with smokeless tobacco habits among population of Sasihitlu Village, Mukka, Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka, India.
This research demonstrates that Dual Scaling (DS) is a valuable tool for optimally scaling ordinal variables in the calculation of correlation matrices for analysis in structural equation modelling (SEM). More specifically, it shows that there are circumstances where correlation estimates based on DS would be a more appropriate choice for use in SEM than the Pearson product moment, canonical, or polychoric correlation techniques. With respect to ordinal variables, the study demonstrates that the SEM application of canonical correlation is unacceptable, that the Pearson correlation generates attenuated parameter estimates, and that the application of the polychoric correlation to inappropriate data (e.g., non-normal or skewed) can lead to non-positive definite matrices of correlation estimates. It is hoped that this work will give researchers an additional tool to model ordinal data in SEM, especially when other techniques prove problematic.
This cross-sectional study aimed to identify the intention to avoid premarital sex and to determine the relationships between general characteristics, internal factors, external factors and intention to avoid premarital sex among "Happy and Healthy Adolescent Lives (HHAL)" trainees. The 200 HHAL trainees between 18-25 years of age were randomly selected using the multi-stage sampling method. Data were collected by using self-administered questionnaires and were analysed to test the relationships by employing chi-square test and Pearson product-moment correlation.
In this study, the relationship between various elements has been studied using Cross plots/ratios, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis, CEC, OC, NO3-, and Coliform count. Trileaner diagram was also use to determine type of water and this reveal Calcium + Magnesium/Carbonate + Bicarbonate water. The resultant matrix reveals strong correlation of Na+ with Cl-, K+ with Cl-, and Na+ with K+ in all the seasons. Some pairs of species show moderate to strong correlation (r > 0.6), examples NH4+ – NO2-, NH4+ - SO42- (dry season). Bicarbonate was dominant to other anion/cation due to dissolution of carbonates and reaction of silicates with carbonic acid which accounts for the addition of HCO3- to the groundwater. HCO3- also dominates over Ca2, Na+, Mg2+,K+, and SO4 2- in all the Formations, due to silicate weathering. There was also addition of Ca2+ ,Na+ and removal of SO42- which is due to weathering and leaching of silicate. Ca2+ and Mg2+ show good correlation among themselves and also with Na+, indicating a same source. The major exchangeable ions Na–Cl and Na–k correlate positively and correlation coefficient is found to be same for all the seasons’ samples.
Correlation has significance in all sciences. Various attempts have been made over two centuries by many authors to explore its usefulness. In this research an attempt has been made to derive a distribution of the mean of k-independent sample correlation coefficients each of which is based on “n” pairs of observations. This distribution has been developed by expanding the rth power of the modified Bessel function by using the Taylor series. The contribution of this research is to derive, 1) the distribution of mean of two independent sample correlation coefficients and their weighted means, 2) the distribution of mean of k-independent samples correlation coefficients 3) various properties of the distribution of mean of two and k- independent sample correlation coefficients.
In the process of pursuing the objective of vaginal drug delivery system, Our work was aimed on in-vitro-in-vivo correlation of Zidovudine loaded particulated vaginal bioadhesive tablet.The graphical analysis confirms, a good degree of correlation. Fulfilling our objective. A good correlation was observed between the release rate constant and AUC of the formulation also between the mean dissolution time and mean residence time of the designed formulation epitomized. Degree A level of correlation was established from the results. Thus, the formulation has the potential to liberate Zidovudine following Fickian diffusion mechanism having a good degree of in-vitro- in-vivo correlation.
Esthetics is the idealizing or harmonizing of the artificial with the natural, with major basic qualities like beauty, harmony, naturalness and individuality. In Dentistry, dental esthetics is of prime importance during replacement of any missing anterior teeth. James Leon William's "Law of harmony" suggested that a correlation exists between the upside down facial form and the form of the maxillary central incisors which is universally accepted for selection of anterior teeth. Numerous studies have been conducted based on William's geometric theory to evaluate the correlation between tooth form and face form. Among these studies, many proved with positive results while others disproved, which may be attributed due to racial and gender differences. Hence, the present clinical study was conducted to evaluate the geometric theory among Indian population which is polygenetic, a mixed amalgamation of various races, cultures and ethnic groups. The result thus obtain would be helpful in selection and prosthetic restoration of maxillary anterior teeth for edentulous patients of Indian ethnicity.
Transformational leadership is needed today to facilitate employee engagement and increase productivity. This quantitative survey study aimed to determine the connection concerning transformational leadership and engagement among personnel in the branch- banking sector in Bangladesh. The independent variable was transformational leadership, which relates to the capability of the leader to provide an environment that engages their employees. The dependent variable was work engagement, which pertains to the level of commitment among employees in the organization. The main research question examined the correlation between the study variables among employees in the branch- banking sector in Bangladesh. The outcomes of this study revealed that in a work environment, applying transformational leadership style does not assure that the employees will be fully engaged. However, the results of the current study are not aligned with the existing body of literature on transformational leadership and employee engagement.
